Ugnayan ng mga Magsasaka sa Quezon (UGMA)

The Ugnayan ng mga Magsasaka sa Quezon (UGMA) is a provincial multi-sectoral federation formed of 610 women, fishers, and farmers in 11 municipalities in Quezon, including 1 provincial alliance of peasant women.

Founded on August 15, 1986 with the assistance of ORD-CCS, UGMA originally spanned Tayabas, Pitogo, and Atimonan. Over the years, it has reached Calauag, Catanauan, Gumaca, Lopez, Mauban, Padre Burgos, Plaridel, and Unisan. Its municipal organizations are divided into 4 clusters.

One of PAKISAMA's founding members, UGMA was registered with the SEC on January 19, 1989. The federation seeks a sufficient and long-term source of income; the advancement of agriculture, gender equality, and environment; influence on development work and policies; and a successful model community.

It describes its mission as empowering people's organizations towards genuine agrarian reform. Since its establishment, UGMA has been engaged in advocacy, model building, capability building and/or skills development, membership expansion, and networking.

Its programs are concerned with membership development, information, enterprise development, issue advocacy and legal services, health, and gender. Aside from Land Tenurial Improvement cases and other agrarian reform issues, UGMA has been active in campaigns on the coco levy, 2001 elections, and Erap's impeachment.

Its office is located at 82 Maharlika Highway, Brgy. Central, Plaridel, Quezon.
